My Healing

My Journey And Victory Over Cancer

Not exactly my idea of a great vacation.... in a wheelchair! But that is how I spent what we thought was our last vacation as a family.

Lance being as loving and supportive as ever

Everyone trying to enjoy Disneyworld

Our story begins in 2006. Life was going just how we had planned it.... Or so we thought....
I was working as a bank manager and had been with them for over 10 years.

All of the sudden I began to feel very ill. After several doctor visits and hospital stays we were finally told what was wrong. "I'm sorry to tell you this, the doctor struggled to say through her tears, but you have lung cancer." My husband and I were in shock. I had never smoked or even been around asbestos. how could this be? The doctor informed us that I would be sent to the very best specialists around.

The loss of my job was devastating, we could not afford to lose one income we had just moved into our dream home, now with mounting medical bills, and loss of my insurance things went from bad to worse. Lance took on two additional jobs and a small business to ensure all our financial obligations were met.

Fast forward a few months and lots of prayer from family and friends. The nodules and tumors in my lungs looked like heads of cauliflower, large and small masses of cancer tissue. I was scheduled for surgery to remove the larger mass. The surgeon was concerned that the tumors in my lungs had grown even more and so he wanted to perform another CT scan to determine the size and exact location of the tumors to remove. I came out of the CT scan and was surprised by the surgeon. He looked as if he had just seen a ghost! He said "I don't understand this, your CT scan two weeks ago showed several large tumors and nodules, now they are gone with the exception on one pea size nodule, I just don't understand." My husband and I sobbed and rejoiced, we knew exactly what had happened... God healed my lungs! Praise God!!

I believe that God used all of these circumstances with my health and job for his good. We are assured and know that God being a partner in their labor will work together and are fitting into a plan for good to and for those who love God and are called according to His design and purpose. Romans 8:28 AMP. Losing my job was a blessing, it opened the doors for God to do what He had planned for our family.

I am ecstatic to say that we have been able to stay in our home and God has once again provided for us Philippians 4:13 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
